In the Director's Saddle with Bill Miller - #2 in the Series
Cowboy Spirit.TV - The Trip West.
The trail from Boston to the old west is a long and treacherous path which winds its way through mountains and valleys, bogs and deserts. Some say once you get on the trail you can never turn back, you must keep pushing forward no matter what the obstacles. At every turn there are signs warning you to beware, negative people saying it can’t be done and trolls under every bridge. But who I am I to argue with fate. My destiny was written many moons ago and I am just following my path to creative freedom, away from the tedious corporate clutter, adverse advertising ogres and graphic design directors who have argued with me that my blue isn’t their blue even though it’s the blue of their choice.
About five years ago I was fortunate enough to partner with a gifted bronc buster, a talented creative writer, a gentleman and a true cowboy with rodeo running through his veins, Mike Allison. After several projects filming our local rodeo, the New England Wild West Fest, a charity event benefiting pediatric cancer research, we decided to branch out, to tell a story about the true cowboy spirit. We wanted our first venture to be powerful with great insights and meaning but simple enough that we could take it from paper to screen with limited resources backed by a lot of sweat, (no tears yet) eagerness and calling in a bunch of markers from friends who owe me favors.
We’ve assembled a great crew, a fabulous cast and have set the bar really high. First scenes are in the can and if the rest of the movie can equal or surpass what we have in our editing system so far, it’s going to be a blockbuster. Well maybe not a blockbuster, but perhaps a neighborhood rattler.
So keep up with us if you can as this ole wagon train keeps rolling.
