Inside Cowboy Spirit: April 22, 2012
CowboySpirit.TV - Lots going on as we march toward filming our first scenes for the Cowboy Spirit Movie in a couple of weeks.
CAST UPDATE
Our principal cast has been mucho busy of late. Rich Manley, who will play the hero of our story, Ted Walters, has been busy filming a number of pilot episodes for the upcoming television season. With all the Hollywood insider hush-hush stuff that surrounds the whole enterprise, I have no great insight to impart, but we certainly wish Rich all the best for the upcoming Fall television season and hope one of them hits it big.
Jenna Laurenzo, who will play Ted's fiance Tori, just finished up filming a commercial for the Bill Gates Foundation. Sheri Collins, who plays Tori's best friend Amanda just celebrated her birthday, and Brad Hemesath, who plays Ted's best friend Blaine, and his wife, just celebrated the arrival of their first child. Congrats to Brad and Stacie!
Lastly, Ayla Brown, who plays Molly in the film, just released her new album to excellent reviews and a very warm reception from her growing fan base. You can check it out and see for yourself on iTunes here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ayla-brown/id513969398.
FILMING UPDATE
The time is at hand for us to begin principal photography on the Cowboy Spirit movie. Early next month, we'll be filming our first scenes with eight time World Champion Bullrider, Donnie Gay. After that, we'll travel on location in Central NY State to film the flashback scenes with a younger Ted, played by Daylon Swearingen, and me, playing Ted's Grandad. It's going to be a lot of fun, and a challenge for me as an actor wearing makeup that ages me twenty years or so. Then, we take a few weeks break, and then gather the bulk of the cast together in early June for rehearsals and then the bulk of filming. If filming stays on schedule, we will wrap up principal photography by the end of June. Expect some production stills from the shoot by mid-May.
AN ITEM OF NOTE
We were particularly touched today by a beatiful note we received from Tammy in Woodward, OK who tells us that her husband just received confirmation of his cancer diagnosis (she wasn't specific as to type) which has reached Stage 3. She tells us that the Cowboy Spirit is his driving force to beat the cancer. Our prayers are with Tammy, her husband, and all their family and friends, as he stands before this awesome foe. Godspeed, sir.
